This site is a reference site for the UAA ePortfolio Working Group (EWG, AY11 & AY12).  As the EWG identifies potential ePortfolio information and resources, we'll stick them here. Membership, Agendas and Minutes for the the EWG can be found at www.uaa.alaska.edu/eportfolio.  The work of the working group is now complete.  You can download the reports using the links below.

Please contact Bart Quimby (786-1988, tbquimby@uaa.alaska.edu) if you have any questions regarding this site or wish to contribute something to the lists.

Mahara: eport.uaa.alaska.edu/mahara. Mahara is an open source ePortfolio system which we've installed on our servers as a test platform for experimentation. There is still a bit of administrative maintenance to do, but it is open to play with.  We strongly recommend you visit the tutorials at mahara.org to get started.  If you have trouble with setting up an account, email tbquimby@uaa.alaska.edu and I'll set one up for you.

Exploring ePortfolio Technolgies Webinar Series http://www.aaeebl.org/eport-webinar During the Fall of 2011 and Spring of 2012 AAEEBL hosted a series of webinars on various ePortfolio plat forms.  Each was recorded and made available on this site.
Mahara http://mahara.org An open source system developed in New Zeeland.  It has gotten a fair amount of press at conferences.  You can get a 60 trial account on their demo system and experiment with it.  I'll try to install this system on this site over the holiday break.
Sakai http://confluence.sakaiproject.org

http://sakaiproject.org/
An open source system which is much more than a simple portfolio system. This system is reputed to be good for teaching & learning portfolios and assessment of learning.  I'm still looking into what it'd take to install a version to experiment with.
Task Stream https://www.taskstream.com/pub/ A large proprietary system popular with schools of education. Their system is exceptionally well adapted to assessment activities--allowing you to 'drill' down through aggregated data to specific examples.
Chalk & Wire http://chalkandwire.com/index.php/product This is the commercial platform used at Prince William Community College.  Wes Lundberg (Dean of Instruction) reports that they are very pleased with it so far.
Avenet eFolio http://avenet.net/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={DEA68D1E-F048-4E4B-A883-E471E10EAC76} This commercial platform is fairly widely used.  It is the basis of the much discussed Minnesota ePortfolio project.
Digication http://www.digication.com/ This a commercial system which I've heard a fair amount about at conferences.  It has grown out of the K-12 schools of Rhode Island and is spreading to other areas.
Pathway Builders http://pathwaybuilder.com/ A system identified by Joe Hackenmueller.  The site seemed to be down for maintenance when I followed the link.  This is apparently the basis for a statewide project in Louisiana.
